Nîmes notes

a picture diary from a Roman town in the south of France

April theme: Pedestrians crossing

theme pedestrians crossingI recently joined the City Daily Photo community, and this is my first time to participate the monthly theme day. For April the theme is pedestrians crossing, and when I learned that, I knew immediately where and what to shoot.

Here we are at Boulevard Gambetta, which is a part of the ring boulevard surrounding the old center – and where the medieval city walls once rose. The actual pedestrian crossing is somewhere there behind the bus, but the people here in Nîmes rather cross the street whenever the chance comes. And naturally I’ve learned this French habit, too 😉

Boulevard Victor Hugo on a rainy day

bd victor hugo in rainIt has been raining the past few days / weeks. Not every day, but nearly… Here’s Boulevard Victor Hugo, seen from a car window.

During the Medieval times, it was here where the city walls rose. In Roman era the city was much larger.
