In France, the summer solistice has been celebrated with a nation wide music festival, La Fête de la Musique, since 1982. The festival invites anyone to perform in the streets and squares – and people really do! It’s a great and very casual festival, and you can either check what’s on and see your favourite concerts, or just stroll around and follow the sounds. I like to combine the two.
